Day 4 : Jeju Island

Location : Gimnyeong Maze Park, Manjanggul Cave, Mysterious Road & Samnyang Black Sand   Beach
Date : 26th November 2014

안녕...

While searching the information on the attraction at Jeju Island prior my departure to Korea, I've found that it is necessary for travelers to get the right direction on how to go to one place and the right phone number of the place or nearby attraction. It is because if you are driving and had GPS in your car, it is very much helpful to you. The GPS require us to key in the phone number of the place, then it will guide us there. However, it might be inconvenient if the information or phone number you have is wrong. We get lose few times due to the information we had is not accurate.

 *********
 Gimnyeong Maze Park

There are actually have two maze in Jeju Island. The biggest one is Maze Land (where Running Man filmed one of their episode) and the other one is Gimnyeong Maze Park. Since we don't have much time, we go to the nearest one from the city which is Gimnyeong Maze Park. The entrance fee is only KRW3,300.

Direction to Gimnyeong Maze Park

From Jeju International Airport take bus No. 38 and get off at hamdeok-ri (함덕리). Take a bus for the East Coast (Dongilju 동일주) or catch the Eup-myeon Circulation Bus (읍면순환 버스) and get off at the parking lot in front of the Manjanggul Cave (만장굴입구). Walk along the old road leading to the cave for 15 minutes. OR

From Jeju International Airport take bus No. 100 and get off at the Intercity Bus Terminal (제주시외버스터미널). Then take a bus for Manjanggul Cave (만장굴행) and get off at the parking lot by the cave entrance (만장굴 입구). The trip will normally take 50 minutes.

Don't forget to get a map at counter ticket. We get lost a few times but it is an interesting and tricky place to go and play.

Finally, we manage to be here. Yeayyy!!! If you pass the maze, you will find this bell. Ring the bell and our mission is complete.

Hopefully one day, I can find a time and come again to Jeju Island to experience the other maze...Maze Land. 기다릴게...

Manjanggul Cave (만장굴)

Manjanggul Cave is one of the finest lava tunnels in the world. It has been designated as UNESCO World Heritage on 3rd December 1962 (Aku tak lahir pun lagi...) This cave is located nearby the Gimnyeong Maza Park that we've visited just now. The entrance fee is only KRW2,000.

Please use appropriate shoe since the condition in the tunnel is humid and wet. The stone is uneven that can cause slip if you are not careful enough.

I don't go until the end. Quite disappointed but I promise to myself that next time I will be back and go till the end of the tunnel.

Mysterious Road (Dokkaebi Road)

Apa yang misteri sangat jalan ni? Haaa...Moh ler kite try kemisteriannya itu....

We put the car in neutral and it is surprisingly moving upward in a neutral gear. Logically and normally, in uphill situation, the car will go backward instead of upward. Hurmmm...Kat tepi-tepi jalan tu juga adalah gift shops, coffee shop etc. Memang ada tempat nak stop kalau rasa macam nak singgah menyinggah.

Pendek je jalan ni sebenarnya. No entrance fee being charged. Ikut suka hati je nak datang mencuba.

Samnyang Black Sand Beach (삼양 검은모래해변)

First of all, the sand is truly black as per name. Secondly, this beach is reaaaaaaaaally beautiful. It is my pleasure to share the beauty of this place to all (Please be informed that all the pictures below is the original pictures, no editing at all)

It is so good to spend time here, enjoy the nature, appreciate God's creation but we couldn't stay any longer. The weather is so cold even though it's only end of October. We leave the beach when it is getting darker with the promise to come again...one day...In Shaa Allah!
